The use and the prognostic value of test scores in the context of vocational education and training (NuPrA)

This project examines the use and the prognostic value of test scores based on the Stellwerk tests which are administered in 8th and 9th grade in St.Gallen and other Swiss cantons.

The project is divided into two phases: a preliminary study and a main study (to begin in 2020). The project’s goals are (a) to analyse how test scores and Jobskills profiles are used by students, and by teachers and host companies, when making decisions on vocational education and training; (b) to examine the predictive power of test scores and of their accordance with Jobskills profiles in terms of promoting students’ successful entry into and performance during vocational education and training; and (c) to develop a model for the use of test scores concerning vocational orientation.
