The use and the prognostic value of test scores in the context of vocational education and training (NuPrA)

This project examines the use and the prognostic value of test scores based on the «Stellwerk» tests that are conducted in 8th- and 9th-grade classes in St.Gallen and other Swiss cantons.

The project is divided into two phases: a preliminary study and a main study. The goals of the project are (a) to analyse how students, and teachers, and training companies use test scores and «Jobskills» profiles when they make decisions concerning vocational education and training; (b) to examine the predictive power of test scores and their accordance with «Jobskills» profiles in terms of the promotion of a successful entry into and performance during vocational education and training; and (c) to develop a model for the use of test scores in the process of vocational orientation.
