Development of language-language curricular elements for the education of language teachers for lower secondary school level (ESCEAS)

The project provided the basis for a cross-language teacher education concept for language teaching at lower secondary school level.

With the aim of achieving greater coherence between university methodology and principles of language teaching relevant to the target level, including the promotion of plurilingualism and interculturality, a framework concept for the plurilingual education of language teachers was developed.
Models for cross-language education modules in subject science and subject-specific methodology, compulsory language stays and professional practical studies complement the concept, and the evaluation of a survey of affected students provides indications regarding what needs to be taken into account during implementation.
